Prince Rupert Oldtimers

Hockey League

2007-2008

            Sept. 15th 2007

From The Out Going President

It's that time of the year once again and our league start date is rapidly approaching.  In the next number of days, dates for a team rep meeting will be announced.  Along with filling vacant executive positions and other league business, the decision of selecting our annual tournament organizing team and lead representative is of the most importance.  If our annual Old-timers Tournament is to once again to be an enjoyable success.  Tournament dates are November 2, 3, & 4th 2007. Let's continue the tradition.

The League intends this year to start with 4 teams. All players must be paid in full before the start of season.  Open skate and team draft dates to be announced at meeting.

Each team during the season shall continue to be represented by one of two team representatives who will work together closely with the league executive ensuring that the spirit of the league is maintained.

We remind you that our (adult) Old-timer League is considered a social league in which players 35 years old and older are considered first eligible to participate.

Please be fully aware that any player, who is overly aggressive regardless of age, shows deliberate intent to injure, or takes hockey at this level too serious will be asked to play elsewhere.  Players’ age range is usually from 35 to 60+ and we remind everyone involved that we all have jobs to go to the next day and families to support.

I would like to thank the executive and players for their assistance and support during my time as your President and to offer my support to the new 2007-2008 executive.  I look forward to the league having another successful season and a chance to meet and play with all players, new and old.

Sincerely,

Calvin Thompson

Out going PROHL League President
